The Most Significant Ads from Made on YouTube 2026

YouTube Unveils Made on YouTube 2026 Event

On 23rd September, YouTube introduced the Made on YouTube 2026 event, outlining a transformative approach to enhance content creation and monetisation. With over 20 million videos uploaded daily and more than 3,000 product updates rolled out between January and August this year, the platform aims to reshape the digital landscape.

Neal Mohan, the platform’s CEO, remarked on the evolution of creators from mere audiovisual producers to innovators building next-generation media companies. In light of this shift, YouTube’s strategy focuses on anticipating changes in consumer behaviour, optimising production through algorithmic tools, and energising the interactions between creators, audiences, and brands.

Enhanced Content Discovery Experience

A significant transformation is taking place in the content discovery experience, with the introduction of “Custom Feeds” powered by artificial intelligence. This feature allows users to design and save personalised tabs based on conversational requests. For instance, one might ask for “fun podcasts for my daily 30-minute commute to work” or “evening relaxation with long documentaries,” or even by topics like “History” or “Philosophy.” The system will continuously update responses to these prompts with new recommendations.

Additionally, the “Ask YouTube” tool has been expanded to facilitate interactive questioning in a conversational manner. This feature also assists with purchasing decisions by generating product comparison tables and answering specific queries directly on the playback page.

Shorts Series: Organising Content Like Never Before

YouTube has now introduced the ability to create episode lists for Shorts, similar to traditional television series. Data indicates that in July 2026, over 35% of users engaged with YouTube Shorts, with more than half of the top 100 creators identifying it as their most popular format. Responding to the rise of micro-dramas, which garnered over 6.5 billion views in the first half of 2026 and experienced a 90% growth in views, “Shorts Series” will now be organised into seasons and episodes for sequential viewing.

Advancements in Production Tools

In the realm of production, YouTube Studio is evolving into a comprehensive workspace supported by conversational assistants. The new editing assistant for Shorts, along with the YouTube Create app, enables creators to make complex adjustments through text commands, such as muting pauses or rearranging takes. Furthermore, the dashboard now includes “Insights” and “Research” sections to identify trends, while “Ask Studio” offers the ability to review video drafts and provide narrative feedback, as well as generate titles or thumbnails aligned with the channel’s visual style.

Technical Optimisation and Distribution Improvements

The technical optimisation of distribution is deepening with the introduction of A/B video testing and autonomous catalog management. Creators can now upload up to three different cuts of the same video (Video A/B testing) to assess which structure or opening hook retains the audience better, capitalising on insights from over 40 million experiments conducted with titles and thumbnails since 2024. In addition, the dynamic thumbnail system will display the most effective image according to viewer segments, while “Ask Studio” can autonomously audit and renew historical thumbnails to revitalise older videos.

Innovative Live Streaming Features

Live streaming, a segment that recorded an average of over 600 million daily viewers in August 2026, is set to receive new competitive dynamics and tools to enhance accessibility. Notably, “Live Showdowns” is an interactive format where two creators compete in real-time, with their communities boosting their scores through “Super Chats” and gifts (jewels). This will be complemented by a pilot for real-time dubbing in English and Spanish during live broadcasts, as well as the expansion of “Watch With” to all eligible long-format videos to facilitate simultaneous reactions.

Strengthened Digital Identity Protection

The protection of digital identity against synthetic content is being bolstered with additional layers of biometric verification. The image detection function is moving to the mobile app and now includes a spoken voice detection model that works in conjunction with facial recognition. In terms of community management, the platform is enabling AI-driven comment moderation, an optional system that learns the creator’s historical filtering criteria to automatically retain similar unwanted messages and generate periodic control reports.

Accelerated Commerce and Monetisation Opportunities

Finally, the commerce and monetisation sector is witnessing rapid growth, particularly through the YouTube Shopping affiliate programme, which now includes over 1.3 million creators. This infrastructure will expand its reach to 35 countries, enhance integration with Amazon in markets such as India and Brazil, and implement automatic localisation of tagged offers based on the viewer’s country. Additionally, “Ask Studio” will simplify commercial partnerships by streamlining responses to brand proposals and customising press kits.
