UK Enhances Financial Partnerships with Guatemala and Honduras for Economic Growth

The British Embassy, in collaboration with Crown Agents Bank (CAB), recently organised a series of executive breakfast discussions that brought together prominent leaders from the financial sectors of Guatemala and Honduras. Among the attendees was Neeraj Kapur, the CEO of CAB, who participated in these insightful conversations aimed at exploring various aspects of trade, investment, and the pivotal role that financial services play in fostering economic growth.

During these discussions, participants engaged in a lively exchange of ideas regarding the potential to enhance financial connectivity, establish stronger ties with global markets, and promote more inclusive economic growth within both countries. Trade figures highlight the importance of these discussions, with UK-Guatemala trade reaching an impressive USD 472.5 million in 2025, while trade between the UK and Honduras amounted to USD 298.4 million. The consensus among the participants was clear: by reinforcing financial connections, new avenues for businesses and investors could be unlocked, ultimately benefiting both economies.

Ambassador’s Perspective on Financial Connectivity

Juliana Correa, the British Ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras, articulated the significance of a robust and interconnected financial sector.
