Unfortunately, this incident exemplifies a broader and troubling trend of violence affecting the nation.

This includes the abhorrent practices of using civilians as human shields, taking hostages, committing acts of sexual violence, and specifically targeting vulnerable communities. The inhabitants of Haiti possess the fundamental right to live free from such terror and insecurity.

We also commend Germany’s commitment to providing necessary airlift support, which will aid in the deployment of personnel for the Gang Suppression Force.
