Ketamine Seizures Surge to 15-Year High: What You Need to Know
Border Force has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking, having intercepted a record quantity of ketamine at the UK border. Over the first quarter of 2026, officers successfully prevented nearly 1.3 tonnes of this hazardous substance from infiltrating communities nationwide.
During this period, a total of 1,298kg of ketamine was seized, marking a substantial 42% rise compared to the final quarter of 2025, in which approximately 915kg was intercepted before it could enter the UK unlawfully. This figure represents the highest quarterly total in 15 years, surpassing the previous record of 1,238kg seized in the second quarter of 2025.
