Inquiry Launched After Discovery of Three Illegal Waste Dumps in North East
Immediate Action Taken on Illegal Waste Sites
Recent reports have highlighted three illegal waste disposal sites located in Peterlee and Hartlepool, both in County Durham, as well as Callerton near Newcastle. In response, officers from the Environment Agency acted swiftly, collaborating with landowners to secure the sites by installing concrete barriers to prevent further access.
Currently, investigations are underway at all three locations, which are found to contain shredded household waste. Plans are being developed in conjunction with landowners to facilitate the removal of the accumulated waste.
