One of the most notable projects benefiting from this funding is CGI’s SODOR initiative, which aims to trial satellite broadband on the West Highland Line, one of Scotland’s most picturesque yet remote railway routes. The 16 projects are part of the European Space Agency’s Advanced Research in Telecommunication Systems (ARTES) programme, backed by the government funding.
