The United Kingdom has recently formalised its commitment to Lebanon by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities as well as the Ministry of Defence. This agreement underscores the enduring partnership between the UK and Lebanon’s security institutions, aiming to enhance security and stability within the region.
Investment in Security Assistance
Through the UK’s Integrated Security Fund, the partnership will facilitate a 31-month Internal Security Assistance Programme dedicated to the Internal Security Forces (ISF) and the Lebanese Army, amounting to an impressive £16.3 million.
